Time Locality

Wasn't sure how to title that.

Basically whenever time and date entries are made, those are set to be local to whomever set those dates.

This is what it looks like for one of my processors in Australia:

And the same entry, but viewed by someone in the USA:

Is there a way to make these date entries correspond to a single time zone?

At this time, IPB sets each users timezone based on their location. I could add the option of having all DateTime objects be set to a set timezone but I don't recommend it. It would be confusing to users to have part of the website in their native timezone and part in a different timezone.

Hi!

Quick question!

Then, why is PERSCOM asking for a timezone (as mandatory field) when the user issue an application? Why PERSCOM does not takes it directly from IPS database?

Thanks!

Good question! Honestly, because it was brought over from PERSCOM 1.0 when IPB did not natively manage time zones. This personnel field could be taken out in PERSCOM 2.0 as it really plays no role besides letting someone who’s viewing their personnel file know which part of the world they are from.
