Will Reese
We have a lot of staff roles and some people have two or three so it cuts off the name of the role. Could we have the option to hide the OIC and NCOIC and have the roles use that space since we mention it in the staff roles anyways? Just an idea to have it all visible and clean. OR here is a better idea. Have a drop down or some sort of arrow that expands the roles to save space. http://2ndrb.org/ipb/index.php?/perscom/personnel/roster/2-staff-roster/ Edited January 12, 2019 by Will Reese
Administrators Jon Erickson Posted January 12, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 12, 2019 We agree, something needs to be done about this awkward empty space. There is about equal requests for wanting to display the OIC/NCOIC, and then not using it. I think what we’ll do is implement a feature that allows you to design your own type of “row” on a per roster basis. Similiar to how a roster can be sorted individually, but we’ll allow you to add/remove the individual fields you want to display in the row. I have the same feature, on a lower level, available for the soldier table in the ACP when clicking Table Settings. Something similiar to this. I think that will solve your issue and continue to provide complete customization. 1 Quote Owner Deschutes Design Group LLC email | jon@deschutesdesigngroup.com
Will Reese
Could a expand arrow be possible still? Since I wanted to add like up to 5-7 roles to each person who qualify I think it would still cut off. Medical Instructor, Explosives Instructor and so on. Administrators Jon Erickson Posted January 25, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 25, 2019 I will play around with how to better display multiple positions for sure. Administrators Jon Erickson Posted January 26, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2019 Let’s take an informal poll. Which options of Arthur’s mockups do people like best? Will Reese
I like the first one with the OIC and NCOIC listed at the top. If the OIC can always be fixed to the left and the NCOIC to the right so its uniformed that be great. My S2 won't have a NCOIC for awhile so to have it match and not be centered be perfect. Will Reese
Is there anyway to get this format of roster in the new version of PERSCOM?
Administrators Jon Erickson Posted February 10, 2019 Administrators Share Posted February 10, 2019 You can always customize your own templates within the theme editor of the ACP. We do our best to set a foundation of what is generally wanted, but part of IPBs design is to allow customization of templates. If you know HTML and CSS, you can customize all you want! The template you are looking for is in perscom -> front -> personnel -> adminRow. Just know, whenever you update PERSCOM, you’ll need to revert the template changes to see any new changes we’ve applied - then reapply your customizations.
